The Capsules
Worlds to step into — each a place, a season, a self.
The wardrobe, gathered by mood.
A capsule, the Aelse way
A capsule wardrobe is a small set of pieces chosen to be worn together for a season: a few knits, one coat, the shoes that go with all of it. Ours are gathered by mood and by the colours that carry through them, so a cashmere polo, a pair of drawstring trousers and a leather jacket from the same capsule already belong together. Every piece is sized and sold on its own.
- What is a capsule wardrobe?
A capsule wardrobe is a deliberately small set of clothes that work together, chosen for one season or one way of living. The idea is fewer pieces, each one worn often. At Aelse a capsule is a short list of knits, outerwear, shoes and dresses that share colours and a mood, so getting dressed takes a minute.
- How many pieces are in an Aelse capsule?
A capsule stays small, usually around ten pieces, and it changes as drops land and pieces sell through. First Cold Morning gathers cashmere knits, a leather jacket and flat shoes in two colours. Window Light gathers sweater skirt sets and single knits.
- Do I have to buy the whole capsule?
No. Every piece is sized and sold on its own, including each half of a set. Buy the sweater without the skirt, or the jacket alone, and add the rest another season.
- Which capsule suits a fall wardrobe?
First Cold Morning is built for the first cold weeks: cashmere knits, a vegetable-tanned leather jacket and flat shoes that share the colours Truffle and Jet. Window Light is the indoor half of the season, sweater skirt sets in wool and cashmere.
- What does Modest gather?
Long sleeves, high necklines, hems to the ankle and loose cuts, in cashmere, wool, cotton and silk. Dresses, sets and knits that cover with ease.
- What is Last Chance?
Last Chance holds the pieces leaving the wardrobe. The units you see are the final ones; when a size sells through it is not re-cut and the piece leaves the site.
